Render Them Speechless
The demand for product visualisation is increasing. Tomorrow’s needs are changing the product experience. This includes efficiently using visualisation throughout product development to presenting product experiences to customers in visually engaging ways. In this talk we look at anticipating these needs in light of technology trends and three visualization methods making it possible: Variation Capture, Interactive Product Configuration, and Complex Material Creation.
We will look at techniques to capture product variations using a novel configuration concept.
With these variations, we will explore how interactive, animated product experiences can be quickly generated for in-depth design reviews, increased web engagement, and instant VR exploration.
We will see how the quality in these experiences comes through the latest research and development into complex material appearance including semi-translucent materials and clothing. Lastly, we glimpse new hardware capabilities providing 3D professionals with never before realised opportunities to create these experiences faster.
Henrik Wann Jensen is Chief Scientist and co-founder of Luxion (makers of KeyShot) and Professor Emeritus at the University of California at San Diego.
His research contributions to computer graphics include the photon mapping algorithm for global illumination, and the first technique for efficiently simulating subsurface scattering in translucent materials.
He previously held positions at Stanford University, MIT, Weta, and Pixar. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technical University of Denmark. He is the recipient of an Academy Award for pioneering research in rendering translucent materials.
