By car
Sheffield is well connected by the road network and is close to the M1. Car parks are located near the Octagon Centre and there are also several park and ride options outside the city. Full details below.
CAR PARKS
Q-Park Durham Road is a secure multi-storey car park located directly opposite the Octagon Building at the University of Sheffield. The postcode is S10 2JA.
We advise you to pre-book your car park space.
Alternative parking can be found at Q-Park Rockingham Street, which is a 10 minute walk to the Octagon Building. The postcode is S1 4NL. Spaces can also be pre-booked.

By train
The nearest mainline station is Sheffield. Regular services operate between Sheffield and London St. Pancras (from just over 2 hours), Birmingham (1.25 hours), Leeds (1 hour) Manchester (1 hour) and Nottingham (1 hour).

By taxi
There are taxi ranks at Sheffield railway station and beside the City Hall. The journey to the University should only take five minutes, but can take 15 minutes if traffic is heavy. Expect to pay around £5.
By bus
A number of regular bus services stop at or near the University. The most frequent of these are the 51, 52 and 95 from the city centre and the 120 from Sheffield Transport Interchange.
From Sheffield station you can catch a No. 12 bus, which takes approximately 15 minutes.
