Bio:
Brian Thompson is the senior vice president, CAD Segment at PTC. In his current role, Mr. Thompson is responsible for general management of PTC’s CAD and engineering calculations businesses, including market analysis, solution definition and strategy, solution marketing, strategic business and customer development activities.

Experience

Mr. Thompson most recently served as the Vice President of PTC Creo® Product Management. In this role he was responsible for understanding broad customer requirements for all of the PTC Creo apps, developing short and long range product release plans and communicating those plans across PTC’s development organization. He also continues to provide regular support to PTC’s global marketing, sales and media relations teams as a primary spokesperson for PTC Creo and PTC’s CAD Business.

Mr. Thompson joined PTC in 2009 as a member of the Pro/ENGINEER® product management team and has held positions of increasing responsibility for PTC’s CAD product portfolio. In 2011, Mr. Thompson assumed full product management responsibility for the complete PTC CAD solution portfolio.

Prior to joining PTC, Mr. Thompson amassed over 15 years of experience in electro-mechanical product development in a variety of discrete manufacturing industries. Mr. Thompson holds six product design patents, many of which are on products still being sold in the marketplace today. He has worked in a variety of roles in PTC’s customer base such as functional engineering management, product development management, and technical product management.

Education

Mr. Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY
