Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

Broome will introduce the Innovate UK funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), a collaborative project involving a business, an Associate (a graduate / post graduate) and a University. They focus on growing business capabilities and are an invaluable means of transmitting knowledge and expertise in a variety of different companies.
They facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology and the spread of technical and business skills. For academics, they offer an opportunity to develop long-term relationships with industrial partners and enrich business-relevant research.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is a partly government-funded programme to encourage collaboration between businesses and universities in the United Kingdom.
KTP was launched in 2003, replacing the Teaching Company Scheme (TCS), which had been formed in 1975. The programme is funded by some 17 public sector organisations, and led by Innovate UK, an executive non-departmental public body reporting to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
