In his role as senior director of software development at AMD, Chris Hall delivers maximum performance and differentiated experiences for AMD’s customers by building the next generation of tools, libraries and benchmarks and driving engagements with key software partners to leverage AMD’s CPU cores, GPU and ML accelerators.
He has a strong association with CAD, starting with delivering the port of Pro/Engineer as the first available professional application available for Windows NT. Outside of PTC Chris has held a variety of engineering and product marketing roles leading teams to deliver products as diverse as 3D scene graph toolkits, graphics cards, safety-critical graphics products for aircraft cockpit “glass” displays, 3D Cameras and even business management software for pet professionals.
With the AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro processor, AMD has redefined what’s possible from a CPU with integrated GPU, delivering 3D and computational performance that rivals that of a mid-range discrete graphics card.
Chris Hall, senior director of software development at AMD, will draw on his vast experience of the CAD sector, to explain what this new processor means for product designers, engineers and manufacturing professionals.
He will put the spotlight on a new generation of workstations – the compact desktop HP Z2 Mini G1a and slimline mobile HP ZBook Ultra G1a, which can now accelerate the most demanding workflows from CAD all the way to visualisation, including tools like KeyShot and Solidworks Visualize.
