Philip Lunn is a serial entrepreneur founding companies in the area of design visualization and was the founder of Bunkspeed the creator of HyperShot (aka Keyshot) which has become the standard for product visualization. He has also had companies in augmented reality and virtual reality. Philip is now co-founder of Depix Technologies, Inc a Montreal based technology company looking to revolutionize the design process as we move into the age of readily available superintelligence.
Design has changed from a sketch driven ideation process to an intent based process. What do II want to create today?
In the traditional workflow, design begins with ideation which is a process of sketching ideas, refining that sketch, building a 3d model, visualizing that model and making a decision as to what goes further. This process can be weeks or months. With design by intent, research grounded visual concepts are created in minutes with material realism and feature depth that feels “production ready” that are then moved directly to an editable 3D model in CAD. In the not too distant future, this same intent driven process will move to engineering. We have the vision of intent to production ready in one day.
